Pastor Harley returned as Pastor of Mt. Sharon Free Methodist Church on July 1st, 2017 He originally served as Sr. Pastor from 2000 to 2013. Harley admits to having a "drug" problem. From the age of three, his Mom drug him to church. Accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 19 and has followed Him ever since. He became very active in his local church just doing whatever needed to be done at the time. After graduating from WVU - served God as a Lay Speaker. "I felt a call into the Ministry while attending the Bridgeport FM Church" and then started the process toward Ordination. In 2000, as part of his formal service with the Free Methodist Church, Harley was a short term Interim Pastor. He was Ordained as a Deacon in 2001 and Elder in 2005. The Appointments Committee asked him to go to Mt. Sharon to serve as Pastor where he served until the spring o f 2013. Harley has been happily married to the love of his life, Cheryl, since August 19, 1977. They started dating in High School at the age of 15 and will celebrate their 46th Wedding Anniversary this year. They are parents of Jessica and husband, Johshua Carlton, and Billy and wife, Becca Mayfield. Recently, they became the proud Grandparents of Roan Mayfield, and Paul & Hannah Carlton Pastor Harley's favorite scriptures are Psalms 46:10 & John 1:1-2. Fun Fact: Even though Harley is a peace-loving person, he enjoys taking guns out and blowing stuff up - all to the Glory of God - of course! |
